The past few days have been delightfully chilly, and we’ve been thinking about fall jackets. Among our favorites is a style that has been a fashion staple year after year, and one that has an iconic history in America as well. What type of cozy outerwear are we speaking of? The leather jacket, of course!
When thinking about the fall trends, and trends in fashion in general, we realized that the leather jacket is something we can pull out of our closet and wear year after year. Men and women alike have been wearing it for years as both a fashion statement and for protection. Pilots in WWII wore them up in the air (Amelia Earhart anyone?), and Marlon Brando made women swoon and men envious in his bad boy motorcycle jacket. The leather jacket is also known for its “cool factor” – rockers like the Ramones (below) sported leather jackets year round.

Pssst!….
That’s Marlon Brando on the motorcycle, not James Dean.
I’ll be sporting my classic black leather motorcycle jacket today.
It is perfect riding weather in Minneapolis.
Dale bought it for me at Ragstock back in the mid-Seventies.
Never goes out of style.

Hi PK,
Missing y’all like crazy. Hoping to make trip this year but uncertain at this point. I just bought a vintage leather motorcycle jac this year. We’ll see if I wear it, not cold enough much.
